Ancient Battles: Into the Tower

Location unknown:  The Order of Sacred Orphans fought one of their earliest battles against the Tyranid scourge (Joe Urban).   The battle's climax occurred when two squads of battle sisters disembarked near a ruined tower and, after cleansing uncountable numbers of the foe in blazing sheets of divine fire, heroically martyred themselves.  May the Emperor show them mercy.

Early in the fight, a squad of Retributors wandered within reach of the swarm and went down in a welter of blood and shattered armor.

Battle for Shiva, Tuesday, 519.M09

This morning at dawn, we mobilized 1000 points of Sisterly Fury to purify our order's tomb site on the devastated world of Shiva, which had, for too long, been desecrated by the forces of the accursed Nurgle's "Sons of Blight".  At sunrise, our sisters were surprised by the hideous enemy, who destroyed or immobilized the task forces' Most Holy Rhinos with their abominable Defiler.  Though the sisters' hearts quailed, they held themselves together (all praise St. Lucius), and managed to annihilate the corruption entirely, thanks to the purifying fire of the Exorcist and the scourging of the divine Eviscerator.  More pictures at www.sonsofblight.blogspot.com
